Meet our new Great Dane Puppy!

It has been three years since we lost both out dogs.  And while we have had a dozen of foster puppies since then, our hearts have been a little empty with out our own pups. When we moved the boys said they would not complain as long as once we got settled in the new house we would get a dog.  And as I sat and emailed my rescue hook up, David sat across the table from me in a meeting, where he was laid off.  Needless to say, all hell broke loose for a minute and I didn't feel right bringing in a new family member into that craziness, so we backed out of that adoption. Heartbroken but it was the right choice.

Fast forward a year and I popped on Facebook one night and while I was scrolling I saw that the rescue was looking for transport for a family of Danes they were saving, so I shared the post and prayed someone would step up. Never did I think, one of those puppies was going to be mine.  But then a few days later I got the text that said "I got your boy! And hes chonky!"

Baby Thunder

It took a few more weeks before we could pick him up. Its always a little iffy with puppies coming in to the rescue, because they aren't always in the best shape.  Many dogs come in beat up from living on the streets or in a not so loving home, they have been hit by cars or are infested with fleas and other parasites. The ugly truth is that they can't all be saved. So I waited to see if my boy would. I got word that he did in fact catch some kind of bug and wasn't doing very well at all, but after a few weeks and lots of work, he pulled through.  And we picked him up last week. Yall...

Meet Thunder.

Hammock Hog... I mean Dog
He took over the hammock!

Clearly he loves his sleep.  I swear he plays too.  But after he plays, its time to get serious and sleep. In his chair, my hammock, with the boys...but almost never in his bed.  And we aren't going to mention the kennel. Don't say it out loud. Kidding. We are working on it. Its just not his favorite thing, yet.

His name was decided years ago. Years ago, I had a dream I had a dane named Thunder. I saved the name and never brought it up when we named fosters.  I just kept it in my back pocket. There is also the fact that Thor, is the God of Thunder. Hes my fav. And lets be real, he makes just as much noise and actual Thunder! Especially when hes going up and down the stairs.  It fits him just as well as he fits us!

There are so many photos to come, but its time for a potty break.  Gotta love the house breaking stage! So much fun, said no one ever.  Hes been really good though and any accidents were not his fault.  Having a puppy is exhausting but its so worth it. Plus its nice to have some company again. Being home alone was kind of getting to me. And now I have some responsibilities and a push to keep myself busy during the day.

Send all the coffee, patience and belly rubs.  The first two are for me by the way.

Macanna Salmon Dog Food and Giveaway

Grandma Lucy's recently sent us some of their products to try out free in
exchange for this review. All opinions are honest and my own.

Dog food.  I have learned that feeding your dog is almost as controversial as feeding your baby. Everyone has an opinion and feels like out of all the choices, theirs is right.  When you talk about dog food most people think of kibble.  There is canned wet food.  Then there is raw feeding. And there are freeze dried and dehydrated options too.

These guys have always gotten kibble. On the regular they get goodies added to their food.  Like turkey and chicken.  They love eggs, carrots and asparagus too. But the base of meals is always kibble. We have tried dehydrated food before, with mixed reviews but when Grandma Lucy's asked us to try their new Freeze Dried Macanna Dog Food, we were more than happy to help.

We got the most fun box from them.  And the dogs knew instantly that this one was all for them too. We got a bag of the Salmon Recipe as well as testers of the Beef Recipe and a Pre Mix that is everything but the protein.

My first thought when I opened the bag was "Yup, that's Salmon alright!" It smells great. If you like fish anyways.  I love it.  And my dogs are all about smelly foods.

Chico the Chihuahua is going to be 16 this November and a few years ago had to have some of his teeth extracted. He is also as stubborn as a mule and insists on eating kibble with Poncho no matter how much he has to crunch. But once I mixed him up a bowl of this, he dug right in.  Speaking of Poncho, he got a good sprinkle of the mix onto of his kibble. And he also helped himself to Chico's leftovers.

This is a freeze dried food. If I had to compare it to anything? I'd say its kind of like a flaky granola mix. Its not like the dehydrated food that I tried either. Its not powdery and uniform. You can actually see these ingredients in the mix!

Lets take a quick look at the first 3 ingredients. Salmon, pinto beans and hemp hearts. Salmon is a heart healthy protein! Pinto beans provide the fiber and because it is slow to digest, it will maintain his or her energy for the day. The hemp hearts pack a punch of Omega 6 and 3 and will promote healthy skin and coat.  Followed by carrots, coconut, pumpkin kale, blueberries, turmeric.  All things you and I would eat.  Except the Pinto Beans.  Don't tell the dogs, but I am not a fan of beans. Luckily its their food not mine!

So what do we love about it?

I love that it is grain free with no preservatives. It is made in the USA. It is super simple to mix up and the bag doesn't take up much room.  Plus my dogs love it.

Is there anything we don't love about it?

Technically we love everything about it.  But Poncho weighs in at 160 lbs.  Which means that he would need 5 cups and a 3 lb bag won't go very far.  And 50% of the year we have a foster Great Dane or 2 to feed so I'm not sure it would be a full time food for us.  But I think a bag of the Pre Mix is going on the list. It will last Chico a good while and a spoonful on Ponchos food so he doesn't feel left out is another way to stretch it out and still include him in the goodness!

We also got to try out some of the Macanna Treats.  And they are both awesome.  The Beef starters only have FIVE ingredients.  Beef, Pinto Bean Flour, Hemp Hearts, Coconut and Pumpkin. That's it! The coconut treats smell just like the Coconut Granola I eat.  It almost tastes like it too.  Yes, it smells so good that after stopping my kid from eating it, we shared one just to see if it tasted as good as it smelled.  And it does.  Minus the sweetness. The second Poncho hears me open the bag, he is at my side.  Chico is a little slower to get there and only comes because he is following his big little brother. But thats because he is deaf.  Im sure he would be faster if he could hear it too.

Want to give Macanna Dog Food and Treats a chance?  Grandma Lucy's has put together a Prize Pack including an assortment of their trial size packets and a bag of one of their Organic Baked Treats for one of my lucky readers. US ONLY.  Enter below and the winner will be announced next Sunday

{not so} Wordless Wednesday: Another year down

2016-12-07_08-41-46
I know it's supposed to be wordless, but I just realized this photo shows their age.  Chico the Chihuahua is 15 and Poncho is 6!  Ugh.  Chicos health is declining and Poncho has slowed down quite a bit as well.  I can't imagine ever saying goodbye to these boys.  I mean, some days they are the only ones who listen to me. (Bear with me, Im all sorts of emotional this week!)

Christmas Time makes me miss a certain other big boy too.  Walter was my Christmas Dog.  Not a gift, but my foster, who spent every morning and night crashed out in front of or half under the Christmas Tree. Before I knew it he was taking up space in my heart too.  Oh how I miss him!

And another guy gone too soon.  Oh Morris.  This dog may or may not have tried to eat the Christmas tree.  I was only supposed to babysit him, but them he stayed on as my foster.  He went from paralyzed to walking/running/jumping, right into our family.  We all have a dog that we wished we could have kept.  Morris was Davids pick.  But sadly we had to say goodbye.  He was just to sick and it wasn't fair to him to keep asking him to be strong for us.

Dogs have come in and out of our lives through fostering and adoption.  Some have made bigger spots in our hearts than others.  Some we still get to see and get updates on.  But these 2 "fosters" became family.  And now with our own 2 boys getting up there in age, we can only enjoy the ever loving crap out of them until they too are gone.

Sure fostering has brought us lots of sadness. But I know in my heart these boys were love like crazy before they left us and that brings me comfort.  It hurts way less knowing this.  The came in strays and left with family that misses them still!

Exploring Kriser’s Natural Pet Store #HappyHealthyPets

Sponsored Post:  This post is sponsored by the pet-loving pack at Kriser's Natural Pet, but all content and opinions are my own.

National Dog Week is coming to an end today.  Not that that means any of us will stop celebrating our dogs. Am I right?  Our pups are loved and spoiled year round!  Last weekend we went on a little adventure.  We had planned on taking one of the dogs with us, but Chico the Chihuahua wasn't feeling well enough, PJ the foster pup isn't quite ready for the adventures and there is no way Poncho would leave Chico behind. So we decided to check it out ourselves first.

The minute you walk in to Kriser's Natural Pet Store, you know you have found something special. Everything is perfectly organized making it easy to find what you need right away.  But the store has such a relaxed atmosphere that you find yourself wandering around looking at all the great products they have to offer. And they really do have everything you could need for your four legged family members.  The best part is that it is all the best of the best.  Natural and healthy!

We were welcomed by the "Kriser Pack" and were blown away at just how knowledgeable they are!  When I brought up Chico's current issues, Pack member Cyndi went above and beyond to help us.  She showed us all our options and explained why they were the better choice. And she even gave me a sample pack of food to try so we can figure out which one he likes best because she understands just how picky chihuahuas can be when it comes to food.  Not only do we want to keep him healthy but happy too!

The walls are literally lined with dog food.  Every kind of food you can imagine.  Dry kibble, canned, dehydrated and even a refrigerator filled with raw food choices.  Plus a few frozen treats too!

The boys were amazed at the canned food options.  They also now want me to try pheasant, rabbit and buffalo dinners.

What I loved most about Kriser's is that I felt so welcomed and valued.  We were never rushed.  I felt like I learned so much in just the short time we were there.  After talking to Cyndi about a harness, David is already talking about going back.  But has already told me that Poncho is coming too. Coming from a guy who is always let down by customer service, Kriser's has impressed truly us. And that in itself is worth the drive up there.  Our pets are part our our family.  And now Kriser's Natural Pet Store is a part of it too!

National Dog Week isn't over yet! Be sure to sign up HERE for 20% of your next visit and the chance to win a $200 Kriser's gift card.  Good Luck!

How do you keep your pets happy and healthy.  Do you feed raw food?  Have you tried natural treats or supplements?  Let me know below!

Foster Dog Diaries: Duncan the Dane Puppy.

It has been 3 years since we had a puppy in the house.  Then one day, I'm having lunch with my girls and the next day I have a puppy.  I'm a sucker.  Turns out if you buy me lunch, I will take a puppy. Actually, I am going to have to pin this one on David.  He always says there is an 18 month age minimum for fosters, but then I showed him a picture of a poor little puppy and he folded.  We have been in love since.

And even though we weren't sure we were ready and he was not as old as our usual fosters, he has been a dream dog.  Sure the first night was rough.  It was his first night away from him Mom and it was storming something fierce out.  I spent the night on the couch with my hand on the kennel.  But that was it.  Kennel training has come easy for him.  That is something we work hard on with all our fosters.  I know not all of them will continue to be kenneled, but I think it is important that they are able to be kenneled it if need be.

Toes, Thai and Dogs, OH MY!

Its Friday.  Good Friday.  And everyone is home today.  This week has been busy but full of laughter.

If all weeks were like this week, the world would be a better place.
Today marks year 6 on the liver transplant list. Sure its been a while, but 6 years ago, I didn't know if I would even make it to see Alexanders 1st birthday.  Hes 7 now!

We started the week refreshed thanks to spring break. The boys are still talking about our trip to the coast! A simple night away made so many memories.

Reading with my boys.  Better yet, listening to them read to me.  It makes my heart so happy.

Dog sitting for a friend.  Everyone is always helping me out, its nice to be able to help them all too!

When you friends say your going to lunch and then treat you to a surprise pedicure.  She said she didn't tell me because she knew I wouldn't spend money to do something for myself.  Her husband got her a gift card to cover all 3 of us.

Lunch with my girls. Its been a while.  And when we are together, things get a little crazy.  But I don't think I have laughed that hard in a good long while.

We entered the last 9 weeks of school.  You know what that means.  Summer is almost here.  I can't wait!

Our newest foster dog is a 14 week Great Dane Puppy.  He is clumsy, squishy and so so soft and he makes it hard to not write the check and foster fail him now.  And the other dogs have taken well to him and are happy to share the bed.

Kennel Training.  Sure the first night was a nightmare, but last night was great!  He only woke up once to go out and there was no fuss.

Having everyone home today.  Its not often that David is home when the boys are home.  After having him home for the whole week last week, I was missing having them all home with me.

Did I mention the puppy???

Wishing everyone a Good Friday and a wonderful weekend.  Happy Easter too!

Foster Dog Diaries: The good, the bad, & the broken heart.

Seriously mom. I know you have a snack behind your back! -Morris

The other morning I sat on the couch with my swollen feet up on the stool. And in my lap, Morris rested his head. I was scratching his ear but what he really wanted was a hug. I know, I know. Dogs don't like hugs! But yall have not met Morris. If you sit he will walk up to you and put his head on your shoulder and wait for you to wrap you arms around him. He loves hugs.

I looked down and him and wondered where life went so wrong for him. A puppy, hit by a car. Unable to use his back legs. One day saved by angels and within a few days after surgery, he was walking again.  And it turns out he was a happy bouncy boy who had so much to say. Hope was high for him.

Morris was only supposed to be here for a week. A week came and went. We were still getting over losing Walter and Morris was just what we needed.  A puppy full of love.  And lots of mischief to keep us busy.  A handful, yes, but a very welcome distraction. Even Poncho and Chico came out of their shells again.

Three kennels, 2 baby gates, a few shoes, a shelf of books, and almost a year later, Morris has settled in with us. He has learned the house rules. He knows to stay on the carpet when the front door is open, he sits and takes his treats nicely. And as long as we leave him with the other 2 dogs when we are out, he usually keeps himself out of trouble.

Over the Summer Morris stopped eating and was very sick. I was sure we were going to say goodbye to him then. He lost so much weight. And his head hollowed out. I was in tears just about every day and would lay with him on the floor for hours. Thankfully he started eating again, with lots of extra goodies in his bowl. He was never really the same since. Still not gaining much, still not eating much, and the infection was still oozing.

The infection he has just won't go away. And despite the loads of medication, nothing is helping. For the most part he is his happy self. Still has something to say about everything. Still bouncy. But still with the infection. Every now and then I will see the hurting side of him. I see him not playing the way he usually plays and not running as fast as I know he can. Some days he would rather just sleep the day away.  And my heart breaks for him. The past few days he has spent more time on his own, sleeping instead of hanging out with everyone and playing.

Friday morning as Ant was trying to put his socks on, Morris kept trying to go in for a hug. I could see the frustration in both of them. One was running late. One needed some love. Anthony threw his hands up, knowing he was not getting that sock on. And before I could tell him to calm down, he threw his arms around Morris neck and buried his face in his neck. I knew there were tears.

The doctors said if the infection was in on of his legs, they would have amputated. But the infection is in his spine and there is nothing they can do for him. There is nothing I can do for him. And I am completely heartbroken.

I have always told myself I would never be selfish enough to keep an animal alive to spare me a broken heart. And now that the time has come, I want more time. To hide him here longer and just pretend nothing is wrong. But in my heart I know it is. I know he hurts and I know he is sick.  Either way is going to hurt.  I can spare myself. Be selfish and eventually he will only suffer more. Or I can let him be at peace. Pain and infection free. I'm not a selfish person but I want so badly to be.

I hope tomorrow lasts forever and Tuesday never gets here.  My heart is broken.

Foster Dog Diaries: New Bowl. New Appetite!

**I received these bowls in exchange for a review.  All opinions are my own.**

Oh Morris!

These words come out of my mouth atleast 10 times a day.

Oh Morris, I love you!

Oh Morris, watch your tail.

Oh Morris, please dont sit on the table.

Oh Morris, not the trash again!

Oh Morris, you really do give the best snuggles.

Oh Morris, thanks for welcoming me home!

Oh Morris!  You ate all your food!!

Backstory in one breath...

Morris was hit by a car and found paralyzed and covered in his own filth. The rescue fixed him up and got his walking but the germs were already invading and putting up a nasty fight. We medicated and washed. When that didn't work, his meds got tweaked. He quit eating. He dropped weight so fast I didn't even see it happen.  I struggled.  He had to take the meds even though they lowered his appetite.  He finished them.

Then he started eating again.

Morris Eats

He still isn't fattening up.  Which is breaking my heart.  Most of my fosters come here to fill out and do so in no time.

Oh Morris, please get fat.

Or put on a pound or 5.

Speaking of eating, the boys got new food bowls.  The last ones were not non skid and they would litterally chase their dinner around the kitchen.  Zitriom sent us 2 new non skid bowls to try out and they have been a blessing. I don't know why I didn't have them in the first place.

Dogs new bowl

The bowls are 32 oz and hold just enough food for the boys.  They are shallower than our old bowls so even Chico the Chihuahua can get to them easily.  And they really don't move much. They are super light, easy to clean and so far, have been able to handle my boys.  Which means, they have been chewed on, picked up, dropped, stepped in, slobbered on and washed a million times and are still in great shape.

Chico the Chihuahua

Morris is eating 3 times a day now. He is done with the medication that was causing his appetite to hide.  And considering since he has been off of them, he has eaten bananas and tomatoes off my counter, not to mention his dumpster diving. Not sure how they got the pantry door open though.

So here is to Hope.  He hasn't had an easy start to life.  And I am hoping that we are able to fix whatever it is that is hurting him.  I want him to be healthy and happy and hopefully adopted.  I think he broke Walters record and has been with us the longest out of all our fosters.  It he hasn't broken it yet, he will soon I'm sure

Happy Tuesday!

Foster Dog Diaries: Morris

Summer sucked up a lot of my brain.  I realized I had two Morris posts that I had meant to share but completely blanked?  Anyone ever do that?  I shared a photo yesterday and asked for some prayers.  I wanted to explain.

When Morris was picked up from the rescue, he had be hit by a car.  Paralyzed in his back legs and in horrible condition!  Just covered in his own filth, starving and paralyzed.  The rescue picked him up and he was up and walking just days after his surgery.  But even though they had cleaned and cleaned him prior to surgery, somehow he got an infection in between the bone cement used to hold his hardware and spine together.  And as much as we have tried antibiotics, it just wont take a hint and go away.

20150527_153107

The only other option the Dr. gave us was to have the hardware removed.  His spine is healed and everything is back the way it should be.  How amazing would that be to just take out all the pins and screws and have him heal up and be ready for adoption.  Its amazing to the tune of $6000.  His first surgery was around the same amount.

We opted to try a different antibiotic regimen until we figured out our game plan.  A few weeks ago Morris started eating less.  He was eating 3 cups twice a day.  And he was only finishing about 2. Then over the last two weeks I have really had to bribe him to eat anything.  I could get him to eat 3 cups but half of that would be ground turkey and veggies that I would add into his food.  And over the last week the weight has just fallen off of him. The part that is puzzling is that most of his weight loss has been in his head.  His temples have shrunk in.  He breaks my heart

Untitled

If you have been around my blog before, you might remember THIS post about our last foster dog Walter. It was a heartbreaking time for our family.  But we knew that we didn't want to give up on our foster journey. So when Morris landed in our laps, we happily took him on.  We worked though some kennel issues.  And I remember the first time he actually sat on command.  Big deal for a guy with a once shattered spine.  We hoped he would get adopted but have loved him as our own anyways.  I might use the term "Foster"  but in this house, they are always family.

Yesterday we had labs done.  I'm expecting a call sometime today for results.   I am truly hoping for the best.  Holding out for a miracle.  But preparing myself for the worst as well.  The dreadful C word came up and my 10 year old said, what ever it is, I just don't want him to suffer.  Me either son.  Me either.

Review: Collapsible Travel Pet Bowls #petbowls

Disclosure:  I was given these for free in exchange for an honest review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

There are only a few things this family agrees on.  Two of those things being dogs and outdoor fun.  So I was very excited to try out these Collapsible Pet Bowls.

Collapsible Travel Pet Bowls

As soon as I opened them I knew I was going to love them.  I am surrounded by boys and the Camouflage print was a big hit.  They are canvas on the outside with a nylon liner.  That makes it great even for water and very easy to clean out.  It is sewn well too, so I don't have to worry about it coming apart on me after a few good uses. And with boys and giant dogs, everything is kinda put through the ringer in this house!

Collapsible Pet Bowl 1

My first question was how much can it hold.  I have Great Danes so a tiny little bowl just won't work for us. Well, I do have a Chihuahua, but he thinks hes a Dane.  Because they are collapsible and fold up so small I was a little skeptical.  We feed 3 cups of food at each meal.  And it fit!  With room to spare!

Notice the loop on the side and the clip we added?  Instant treat bag.  A week before school was out, my oldest had to make a video of him doing something he liked to do.  He added a clip to the bag and asked if he could use it at a training pouch.  And when its not in use, it is clipped on to the side of the kennel so we always know where it is at.

Right now there is a special 2 for 1 offer.  I took the second one and immediately put it in the car. Next to the leash, bottle of water and small bag of dog food that is always in the trunk.  We are always coming across stray and loose dogs.  So to have something that is small enough to tuck away but can hold more than 3 cups will be perfect for those situations.

These bowls will be a great addition to any pet lovers gear.  What, You don't have a box full of gear for your dogs too?  I'm really looking forward to many walks, hikes and adventures with these bowl.

Review: Cute and Cuddly Pet Odor and Stain Removal Spray

There is no denying I love my dogs.  I do.  I love their company during the day when the boys are at school.  I love that they know when I am not feeling well and are all loving and snuggle with me. Honestly, I can't imagine a life with out dogs.  What I could do with out is the messes. Enter Cute and Cuddly Pet Odor and Stain Remover.

Chico is 14 and is having a hard time holding himself over night.  Now yes, I could kennel him. But these two have become so bonded that without Poncho, Chico does not sleep.  And Poncho has graduated from the crate to dog bed in the living room.  And occasionally the boys beds at night. Chico goes everywhere he goes.  But every now and then, in the middle of the night, he will wander out in to the hall and let it flow.

Its been a a good while but yesterday I found a spot I had missed so I got out the Cute and Cuddly Pet Odor and Stain Remover and went to work.  It had already dried up and I was worried that it might not work.  But it did. I wet the area and used a towel to soak up the water. Then I sprayed it enough to saturate the area and let it sit. I might not have waited the 15 minutes the directions call for but I used a clean towel to soak up what was left. After I vacuumed and low and behold, no stain! Afterwards I steam cleaned the whole carpet.  My house feels so much cleaner now!

I also sprayed it where Walter had an accident when he started his Heartworm treatment.  The Doc told me that he would have to go more often, but I was to late.  Chicos puddles are nothing compared to the pee puddle of a Dane/Mastiff.  I had cleaned it after it happen and there was no stain.  And even though no one else could smell it, my mom nose knew it was there.  And it wasn't pleasant. I sprayed the area too and the smell is gone.

The smell of the solution can be a bit much at first.  Its a strong but a clean scent.  And when you are done, the smell is just right.  Not overwhelming at all.  I used it to spray down the dog beds too. To freshen them up a little between washes.  I did try it on an older stain and it did not work as well.  It did help a little though. And it also discourages pets from repeating the offence so, hopefully there will be no more surprises in my hallway!

I've always been so shocked when I would look at the other enzyme removers.  But now I know why.  I received this product free for my review but if you would like to try this for yourselves click HERE.

Foster Dog Diaries: Somewhere over the Rainbow Bridge...

I know.  My last post was asking for prayers for Walter the foster dog.  It breaks my heart to even write it, but Walter crossed over the Rainbow Bridge that afternoon.  He gave me one last look from those big brown eyes, then he laid down, closed them and slipped away.

I was planning on bringing a different dog home that day.  But them Walter looked at me with those eyes and there was no denying them.

20141117_084900

During his heartworm treatment, Poncho and Chico laid with him. He was in quite a bit of pain and then was on kitchen arrest.  They stayed with him day and night and never went to far.

20141208_121719

Poncho took his big brother status seriously.  These two became so attached to each other. When Walter lied down, Poncho always had to be touching him.  Usually he would rest his head on his back.

20150202_134701

Just after his Heartworm treatment was done, Walter started limping and we took him in to see the Dr.  Turned out that he had an arthritis flare and the muscles in his leg had atrophied.  We spent a lot of time icing and resting.  Poncho never left his side.

20150210_211649

The thing though, even though he was going though all his own pain, if one of the boys fell asleep on the floor, he would get out of bed and lie next to them.  Walter and Alex were best buds.  It was quite common to find them napping together on the weekends.  Walter would walk up to him and touch his nose to Alexs asking for hugs and love.  Alex sang to him when he wasn't feeling good. He iced his swollen leg and rubbed his ears until his pain meds would kick in.  Alex was his boy.

20150130_162403

And when he just wanted to be left alone he knew where to go for that too.  I would catch Walter in Anthonys bed, head in his lap and Anthony just whispering to him.  And every day when Anthony did his reading homework they would sit like this.  Usually tucked away in bed, but if Walter didn't feel like getting up Anthony would go to him.

20150223_155341

Our tiny house seems so empty with out him sprawled out in it.  I still expect to see his sleepy face greeting me in the morning.  Even David said it hurt to come home and not be welcomed by his big ole head.  See the thing is, he was never supposed to be ours.  We were fostering him.  But somewhere in there, we fell in love and he just decided we were his.  We were hoping for so much more time with him.  We find peace in knowing that he is pain free and that he knew great love in his last months with us.

Rest easy now and know that you were loved so very much
We will miss you Big Boy
You and those big brown eyes
