What's up weekend { September 7th }

Its about time you show up Friday!  Seriously, did the short week seem to drag on for anyone else?  Maybe it was just me because I was to busy throwing myself a pity party.  It happens!

So this week was a bust!  That's the thing about this disease, I was doing so good for a while there.  Sure, I could literally feel my body growing more and more tired over the 3 months of Summer break.  I was expecting that.  And then Tuesday, I woke up, sent the boys to school, fed the animals, took my meds and it was all downhill from there.  I don't know what happened I got my butt kicked.

I take the medication to manage my H.E.  I explain it to the boys as giving myself the stomach flu so that I can get rid of all the toxins in my body.  But one of the things that really triggers H.E for me is dehydration.  So when I couldn't keep anything down that day, it got ugly.  Fast.  Then one of my instastories had people calling me to make sure I was ok.  I promise I wasn't crying, I was just flat out exhausted.  By yesterday I was feeling a little better.  Today, I am tired, but better-ish.  I'm just happy it's Friday!

Speaking of happy, today I'm linking up with Lindsay from The Flynnigans, Charlotte from My Pixie Blog and Beth from Coffee until Cocktails.  Every Friday we share all the things that we are happy, grateful and thankful for!  Stop on over and see what everyone else is sharing today! Here is my list for this week!

A FEW THINGS THAT I AM THANKFUL FOR

I am thankful for an amazing husband. This week he has held tissues to my bleeding nose,  made me laugh when I didn't think I could and has been such a source of strength for me.  Hes always amazing but this week, even more so.

This week we talked a lot about the future.  Specifically, what we need to be prepared for as I get sicker.  The boys have both had questions this week.  What will it be like?  What will change?  Who will take care of me?  And the most important question...who will make dinner?  I'm thankful for such strong boys and that they feel comfortable talking to me about these things.

They keep saying its not a big deal, but I am so thankful to have friends who make sure my kid gets to and from school.  It allows me to take my medication first thing in the morning instead of 2 hours later.  And helps more than they know.

A FEW THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY

Last night Alex rearranged my patio furniture.  He said since I love to sit out side hopefully this set up will keep the chairs dry!

I got a little something in the mail to review that I'm so excited to try out!

Food.  I'm trying a different approach to eating.  Lots of small meals through out the day.  Half an avocado, a cup of soup, a banana,  a small shake.  Everything is staying down, and there is only a little discomfort.

Dinnertime.  The conversations we have at the table are always entertaining. Its one of my favorite times of the day!

Anthony has been bitten by the travel bug and the boys have been throwing out ideas for our next adventure.  They don't know why they want to go to these places or what they want to do when we get there, but they want to go.  I'm so down with that!

Ebooks from the library that check themselves back in.  No late fees...added to what I have already racked up.

Rest.  I can't say nap, because I can't seem to actually fall asleep, but being able to rest...I need it!

Writing out my goals for the month.  Ill share them next week.  Typical Kim, running late as usual!

WEEKEND PLANS

Its supposed to be a rainy weekend.  I want to get out of the house, but at the same times, I want to stay in bed all weekend and let David and the boys just do whatever they want.  Maybe we will meet in the middle.  I wonder if its going to be raining at the beach?!  My brain wants to do all the things.  My body wants nothing to do with any of that!   I guess we will just have to see what we end up doing.

Anyone have anything fun planned?  Are you going soaking up the last weeks of Summer or are you already dipping into all things fall?  What ever you are up to, I hope it is something that makes you incredibly happy!  Have an amazing weekend everyone!

  1. Girl sounds like the summer has been catching up to you and you’re feeling the effects of all that go go go. I hope with a couple weeks rest you’re back to feeling somewhat normal-ish.
