Menu Plan: November 12th

Hello Monday! Im not going to lie, the week is starting out on a busy note but Im hoping that just means it will only get better! Before it get into all that, lets talk food.

I had planned on planning better.  Then the weekend happened and the menu planning didn't.  So yesterday I pretty much just threw it all together and got my grocery order in.  Anthony suggested Chili, which will be perfect since a cold front moved it and we will need something warm mid week!  Here is what we will be cooking up this week!

MONDAY
Lemon Pepper Turkey
Brown Rice Pilaf

TUESDAY
Chicken Street Tacos

WEDNESDAY
Turkey Chili
Crackers

THURSDAY
Baked Pork Chops
Roasted Potatoes
Salads

FRIDAY
Leftover night

This morning is a BIG one! We are heading out to visit with an Endocrinologist.  It will be our first visit, but it's very important.  A few months ago, at a doctors appointment, Anthonys doctor asked him if there was anything else he wanted to talk about.  And he finally brought up his height.  He has only once made it on the charts in height.  He was 2 and hit 1%.  When he was being bullied, she asked him if he wanted to do a workup and see what was keeping him from growing and he said no.  I never pushed him.  But the window was closing with puberty creeping up so when he said he wanted to do it, my heart did a little fist pump.  He had some scans done and they showed there was no growth problems in his bones so the next step is todays appointment.  Im not sure what will come of it, but there is only one way to find out.  Needless to say, we are all a little anxious.

After that I have lab work for two different doctors to do.  And then after dinner, Chico has a follow up appointment to see what our plan should be.  She pretty much said she was sending him home on palliative care. So we are only keeping him comfortable.  It wont be much longer but the decision to put him down or keep him comfortable is what we will be talking about.  I thought I was ready for this!  Yesterday was his 17th Birthday.  He got a special dinner.  He has made it this far and though so much.  Life will not be the same with out him once he is gone!  That's for sure!

Tuesday, I'm off to the dentist for a cleaning and to talk about the plan to fix my face!  Chronic illness has done a number on my mouth.  But the biggest thing is that I am losing bone in my jaw.  So I know I have to have multiple bone graft done.  The hard part is planning it.  Between going off my blood thinners and making sure I do not get any kind of infection has been tough.  I was going to do it this summer but my blood wasn't having it.  I was doing weekly checks and still couldn't get my INR to play along. But hopefully I can get it done before the end of the year and use up this years insurance allowance.

Wednesday will be a soft Friday!  David has Orientation Thursday and Friday and starts Saturday.  He is actually excited to be starting a second job.  I was teasing him earlier that I have never seen someone so happy to have more work.  But mostly he is excited to be working somewhere else.  Who knows what kinds of doors this will open.  I just hope he like it and that it doesn't wear him out.

I only realized yesterday that Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK!  Oops!  Ask me how prepared I am.  No, wait, probably don't ask.  But I did get a few things for dinner this week. So that's a start!  Who else is hosting Thanksgiving Dinner?  What are you must haves on the menu?  Let me know below!

Guess I better shut this show down and get on the road.  Happy Monday everyone. I hope you all have an amazing week!
