Lets have coffee

Most mornings (and some nights) you can find me out back with a book and mug.  And while I usually enjoy the quiet and alone time there are days where I wish I had someone to take up some of the space too.  If you have a few minutes, join me!

Lets have coffee!  The gate is unlocked and I'll be out back on the patio.  The coffee is free, the kitchen is self serve and yes you can come over in your pajamas!  Just let me know your coming so when I hear the gate unlock I don't think someone is coming to rob the place.

How your weekend?  Mine was pretty good.  We didn't get much done.  One of the boys had a sleep over Friday night.  We dropped him off at home and the boys at Grandmas a few houses down, before heading out Saturday night.  After a few stops we decided that it was well past our bedtimes so we grabbed some dinner and headed home.  We didn't get to the movies so we caught up on some shows we had recorded here.  I still have the end of Seal Team to watch before starting the new season. What shows are you watching these days?

Oh, while we are having coffee, we need to plan a game night.  A friend told me about these new Hasbro games at Target for adults.  They are remakes of a few classics with a twist.  I want Sorry Not Sorry which is like the original but with have you ever cards.  Oh and "Botched" Operation!  Considering I am usually the only non tipsy person in the room, Id probably still fail!  Are you up for a game night soon?

I am finally warming up to the idea of Fall.  It used to be one of my favorite times of the year.  But I think because the last few years were just miserable, I had lost my holiday spirit. But I put my Fall decorations up and I ordered another candle from Bath and Body Works since my others are just about done.  I love my scentsy but when the weather gets cooler, I always break out the candles.

Also, speaking of Fall, did you see the wreath on the front door?  I won that in a giveaway.  It was made by a local woman with some crazy talent and creativity.  Check her out at Made From The Heart Wreaths  I wasn't a wreath person but she makes me want them all!

Have you come up with any goals for the month?  One of mine was to lock down our Thanksgivings Plans and Im about there.  My brothers and sisters are hoping to all get together for a few days over the holiday.  I would tell you that as anxious and nervous as I am about it, it would make my heart unbelievably happy to see all my nieces and nephews at once.   We haven't all been together since Dads funeral in 2012.  And Id like to get through it with as little drama as we can manage.  None would be great but it would also be pushing it so...

If you and I had coffee, I would tell you that I would be more than happy to never hear another word about Fortnight.  Or another Dan TDM video.  I love my boys but the older they get, the harder I am finding it to connect with them.  I miss my babies.  I miss Alex and his crazy imagination.  And Anthony was the happiest little dude ever.   I keep going between wanting a baby and wanting to get my tubes tied and shut down shop for good.

At some point we would probably talk about the dogs because if we were outside, they would most likely be in our faces at some point. Id tell you that I am pretty sure these 2 will be our last dogs for a while.  Between my health and Anthonys asthma and allergies, a break is needed from the dog hair.  And the drama.  Case in point:  Last Fridays missing ham.  But then Id take a deep breath and say that at least everyone had eaten and Poncho really is such a good boy.  I can't blame him, it was a really good ham.

When we reached the bottom of our mugs, Id probably joke that my meds were kicking in and that you were more than welcome to another cup but these days 1 cup is about all I can handle these days.  You will probably have things to do anyways.  Adulting and what nots.

You might tell me that you don't want to adult and I would tell you that I would give anything right now to be able to have a full time job and bring in some money.  David is looking for a part time job and I don't know how its going to work.  I just know I wish there was more I could do to help him.

If you and I had coffee I would hug the ever loving crap out of you before you leave and I would tell you that my door is always open.  And that it was really nice to have some company!

Until next time friend!

  1. Awww I loved reading this (and wish I lived closer so I could sneak outside and meet you in the backyard! That sounds lovely!). Also I’d love a cup if you’re making and would totes play one of these games. I had no idea that they were recently redesigned for adults—so neat!

I know what you mean re: dogs, but I’m not sure I could ever go without one in my life. I just love a house filled with dog hair and a needy fur ball who just wants cuddles. The ham would piss me off though lol!

Hope all is well with you and the family and that you guys are making it work with the life and adulting obstacles. I’m sure that’s hard with your hubby having to look for part time work, and I’m sending so much ❤️❤️❤️
