Menu Plan Monday: April 11th

I see you Monday.  And I am ready for you!  I hope everyone had a good weekend.  I know I did.  Saturday we dropped the boys off with Grandma and Grandpa and headed out to the Poteet Strawberry Festival.  I love Texas.  They celebrate EVERYTHING here!  Even strawberries.  I tried a Strawberry Jalapeno Jelly that was ah-mazing!  If I hadn't been saving the last of my money for a ferris wheel ride I would have bought some too.  But, priorities yall.  The best part of the night?  Cowboys!  When I was little I wanted to marry a Cowboy or a Surfer.  David is neither but somehow we just work.  And when the boys are grown and have families of their own, he promised to buy me a little land and some more animals to keep me busy.  If that ever happens, I'm buying him a cowboy hat and some chaps!  Cowboys and Indians!  Pow pow!

So off track.  Anyways, Date night was success and he even took me out for breakfast before we went grocery shopping.  Then it was back to reality.  I was drawing a blank when it came to food so we just kind of threw this menu together.  Lots of poultry.  But what's new right?!

Monday: Whatever is left in the fridge!

Tuesday: Chicken Tacos and homemade pico de gallo.

Wednesday: Salisbury Steaks, mashed potatoes and corn.

Thursday:  Adobo Chicken and Rice

Friday: Lemon Pepper Turkey and Broccoli.

My fingers are crossed for a fast week and a nice and warm weekend.  I am itching to light up the grill.  My favorite part of spring is getting use of the backyard.  Electronics get put down, squirt guns get picked up and naps are taken in the hammock.  As much as we love going out and exploring, we love staying home and relaxing too.

Last week I focused on the boys room and this week my goal is to tackle our bedroom.  It's like a tornado ripped through there. It has become the catchall for things we don't know what to do with.  There are piles of mail and paperwork that need to be sorted and put away.  There are books EVERYWHERE!  And all kinds of electronics EVERYWHERE!  How many gadgets do we need?  So yes, this week I am going to get that hot mess under control.  I should probably fold the pile of my clean laundry and actually put it away this time.  I put every ones clothes away except my own. My list just keeps growing!

When was your last date night?  I think the one thing I love most about our marriage is that we actually like spending time with each other and are both willing to do things that we may not necessarily like.  I drag David outside and to weird places.  And he makes me go to the movies.  Something tells me I am kinda winning at this date night stuff.  Don't tell him that!
