Quick Update: Growth, road trips, family and fun!

I know it's been a little quiet around here.  Let me explain.

Big news!  Last Friday, Anthony started his hormone therapy.  A nurse came out and gave us a class on the medication and how to do the injections.  He decided he was going to do them himself and has been doing it like a champ.  Only problem is...side effects.

We were supposed to go out of town and attend a family members bar mitzvah.  Alex drove down with Davids parents and we stayed behind to let Anthony rest a little longer.  The plan was to get dressed and go straight from here to the ceremony.  But when he woke up he was feeling all out of sorts and so we got a little behind.  We ended up not getting in until later that day.  We knew what we could possibly expect but didn't think it would be that bad.

The following morning he was feeling good enough to venture to the Zoo.  Which was amazing!  Seriously I don't know why we weren't expecting it to be as cool as it was, but it really did blow us away.  I have a boatload of animal photos and videos to share once I get more time to sit.  We didn't just enjoy the animals, the zoo itself is beautiful!

And then that afternoon we got to visit family.  We didn't get to see everyone and that was a bummer but it was also a reminder that we need to visit more often.  The boys love seeing everyone and not many kids can hang out with their great great grandma.  She's the sweetest!

We got back in to town late Monday.  Spent all day Tuesday recovering and relaxing.  And today we are off to the Endocrinologist for a follow up.  Who will also be taking a look at Alex.  Then we are dropping Alex off with Grandma and heading to Anthony's Freshman orientation.  OMG I can't believe this is actually happening!

So it's been a busy couple of days.  David is home for the week so we will be trying to squeeze in a few more adventures while we have his full attention.  I can't get enough of this man and wish so much he could stay home with us always.  But come Monday it will be back to work for him.  Then the following Monday it's back to school for the boys.

Its OK, Summers not officially over until September 23rd and we plan on making the most of it!  I hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!
