Three things you should know about me. I never carry cash, I am always forgetting something and I love animals. These three things pretty much set the tone for our Spring Break.
Spring Break is our one big vacation. The one school break we always get away for. David takes the week and we pack up and get out of town. This year we made the drive out to Houston with one goal. The Houston Zoo.
The first morning, we got off to a late start because I forgot to set the alarm. Go figure! It took some convincing to get the boys up and ready in a rush, but we made it about an hour behind schedule. While we were circling the parking lot for the tenth time trying to find a parking spot.... the gas light went on. Clearly, I'm not Irish, because I have zero luck.
We decided to go fill up the tank and head out to lunch with friends instead. Imagine our surprise when our card was declined. Turns out using the card in 2 different cities in one day was enough to flag our account. I was starting to think the whole trip was done for. So embarrassing!
Thankfully I had just discovered Square Cash and was able to send my friend the money right then and there to cover our portion of the bill. Crisis averted.

My secret stash of money was gone before I could but some crazy zoo souvenirs, but pizza, pasta and fun were worth it all. Spring Break was back on. Not long after lunch I broke my favorite pair of slippers. Story of my life I tell you! Good thing I didn't forget to pack my sneakers!
We finally made it to the Zoo the next day. With a tank full of gas and back up money just in case we had any more problems with the bank. We didn't! Praise the money Gods for that. We spent the whole day checking out the animals and learning more about each and every one. I still got my souvenirs too. Actually we all did. We got wristbands with one of our favorite animals on them. Alex got to see the Galapagos Tortoises. Anthony found a Llama. I watched Rhinos play in the mud and David got to laugh at the evil Ostriches stare at me. Shudder. It was a great day! And despite what felt like the whole world against us, it was yet another fun filled spring break.

This is an app that I will be keeping around for sure. Now when I go out to lunch with my girls, we can just send our portion of the bill to one person instead of trying to sort it all out and confusing the cashier. Sadly this has happened, more than once. We are a wild bunch. Or on the days that I am not well enough to go to lunch, I could send them enough to cover my meal and at least I will feel better when one of them shows up with lunch for me at home. So many ways Square Cash will come in handy! Have you tried it yet?
