Lights, Lemons and Late Night Talks

I woke up yesterday thinking it was Friday and was very disappointed.  But today, TODAY is Friday!  And good grief am I happy about that!  It has been one hell of a week and I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend with my guys!  Nothing makes me happier.

Speaking of happy, today I'm linking up with Lindsay from The Flynnigans, Charlotte from My Pixie Blog and Beth from Coffee until Cocktails.  Every Friday we share all the things that we are happy, grateful and thankful for!  Stop on over and see what everyone else is sharing today! Here is my list for this week!

  1.  Being able to laugh at myself when I mess things up.  For the first time ever, I made a dinner that was not edible.  I have made some weird things, but everyone has always smiled through it.  But after putting the meatloaf in the oven, when I was rising out the ground turkey trays to recycle them, I noticed one of them smelled funny.  I totally missed it when I was mixing it, but man was it ripe.  Needless to say, the meatloaf tasted off and I wasn't about to risk it, so, we raided the fridge and had breakfast for dinner instead.

  2.  A very forgiving husband.  With my sleep all out of whack, I have been sleeping the days away and then at night it takes every oz of energy I have to keep from vacuuming.  Last night I finished cleaning the kitchen at 1 and honestly debated if the steam cleaner would be to loud.  The house and been a mess, and I have been a bigger one, and he just keeps on loving me!

  3.  Borrowed kids.  Its funny when I hear that little knock at the door and I know who it is.  Having a friend right next door with girls who make themselves at home here makes my heart happy.  I wanted 6 kids and only had 2.  So God gave me 4 girls next door.  My house was filled with laughter yesterday and that is just the best! Its a nice change from the usual boys raging at their video games!

  4.  Christmas Lights!  Our street is lighting up more and more.  I just love Christmas lights.  Im already planning more for next year.  I also love that I can change the color of our house lights.  I try to change it up every night.  Tonight they are candy cane red.

  5. Prime TV. How did I ever forget we had this?  Currently rewatching True Blood and remember just how dang beautiful Alcide is.

  6.  Alex asked me to come in for career day.  When I said I don't think I was what they were looking for he said " Why not?  Being a mom is counts. Its a hard job!"  Bless his heart.

  7.  Hanging out with Anthony.  Teenagers are revolving doors of emotions.  One day my sweet boy doesn't want to talk to me about anything.  And the next hes asking me to hang out in his room while he winds down for the night.

  8.  Routines.  We are finally getting into a decent routine with Davids new work schedule.  I miss him dealing with all the bedtime drama.  They are 10 and 13 and yes, there is still bedtime drama.  Someone is thirsty or hungry, or still hasn't brushed their teeth.  Or they forget about having papers to sign or homework to do.  UGH.  By bedtime I have zero patience.

  9.  Lemons.  My neighbor brought me over a giant bag full. Did you see it on my Instagram?  I love all things lemon.  I have made lemonade and need to make a second pitcher.  I cut and froze a dozen for my water.  And I made the cutest mini lemon cakes.

  10.  Rainy Days.  What is it about rainy days that makes sleep so much better.  I was sleeping so hard, David texted me to make sure I was ok after he saw me passed out on the couch.  We originally got the cameras to keep an eye on the dogs when we were not home, but now I'm the one that needs supervision. HA!
I started this post this morning, then slept most of the day away.  See #10.  And now its almost 9 PM and I'm just now coming back to finish it up.  What a day today has been.  All I know is I'm ready for bed again.  My medication sucks all the life out of me and trying to stay hydrated seems impossible.  But I made it through the day!

This weekend we are planning to do a little more Christmas shopping. And I need to find my wreath.  I love me a fresh pine wreath.  And our community is having its tree lighting ceremony that we plan on attending tomorrow night.  Nothing exciting, just a nice non stressful weekend.  Fingers crossed!

What are you all up to this weekend?  Is it snowing where you are?  I wish it would just snow here.  If its gonna be cold then, why not right?!  Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!
