Happiness is ______ {Week 18} #happinessis

Its been a few weeks since I joined in for this happy filled series.  Its nice to have some things to share with yall. After all what is happier than back to school?  Besides the end of summer break.  But its back to the grind around here, which I am actually looking forward to even if my body hasn't gotten the memo yet!  Early mornings are rough!

Happiness is... Growing things!  When I left I was sure that the little green leaves poking up though my old pot of soil were weeds.  This week, look what is growing!  Papayas!!  Mom threw some seeds in there when I put my other avocado plant in there.  The one that the Bruce Wayne the Dane ate.  Well they are growing now.  And I cant wait to see if I can actually keep it alive long enough to bear fruit!  I love me some papaya!

You know what else makes me happy?  Free goodies!  I was lucky enough to get the Good Life Vox Box from Influenster.  More to come on that later.  But let me just say real quick, there were some Nonni's THINaddictivs in there and they were gone before I even got home.  I was hungry and they were yummy!

Happiness is... This little dude has one more year at home with me, so back to school means time for one on one Wii Tennis matches and waiting for Bubbas at the bus stop!

We are back. I am back!

2000 miles.  2 dogs.  2 boys and the 2 of us.  Lots of hours on the road.  But an amazing week with family and so many memories.  We are finally home and ready to get back into the swing of things.  As much as wee needed this little break, back to the grind it is.  Back to work, back to school and back to soccer.  That about sums it up. And the best part is I am actually looking forward to it.

I'm ready to get back to a regular schedule.  I will find out this week if Alexander will be in Pre K or not.  If not, that is ok too.  I know that we could do our own thing if we needed to this year.  But he is ready, or so he says.  Since our vacation was so late in the summer, there are still so many school supplies and clothes shopping to be done.   Procrastination never pays off!  When will I learn that!?

Soccer starts up again.  We missed last weeks practice since we were gone.  David jokes that I am more excited about it than Anthony.  I might not disagree.  But there is something about watching him playing that I love.  Hes the tiniest on the team.  And it doesn't come easy to him at all. But bless he heart he gives it his all. So much comes easy to him and I like seeing him work hard for something.  Is that mean?  I promise I only mean it in a good way!

Back to meal planning and drs appointments. Hopefully I will have some sort of clue as to my menu this week by tomorrow.  Or maybe not.  One thing I learned on this vacation is that I worry to much!  So I'm working on that!  Another thing I learned is just how much I am not sharing on here.  I started this blog to share my journey and my life on the transplant list and I have strayed a little.  So time to refocus on that. Because I love it!   But like everything else in my life, I need to work on getting it done!

I also plan on getting in bed earlier.  And so that means, I'm done writing for tonight :)  I have 20 mins to get in bed!  I hope every ones summer is coming to a smooth close.  Much love!

Menu Plan Monday: August 5th

Its already past 11 pm and I am only now getting this up.  Its been one of those days.   We started the Fall Soccer season, I decided to be brave and signed up to co manage the team, its my birthday and I'm just might cry if I want to!  All jokes aside, its been a great day.

This week is like every other week this summer!  Quick and easy.  Its a short week as we head out on a road trip and vacation on Thursday.  And tonight I didn't feel like cooking so we grabbed some Whataburger on the way home from practice.  I felt horrible logging it into my calorie tracker, but according to my new fitbit that the hubby got me, I am still good on calories. I have to admit though, I never deny myself something I want.  I may eat smart all day and endulge at dinner.  Or have half of dessert.  Ok maybe not dessert, but you know what I mean. Everything in moderation!  That's the key.  So here is what we have going on this week!

Menu August 5th

Enchiladas are super easy.  And its the only day that I will have time to cook a whole meal.  The spaghetti sauce is frozen left overs from a few weeks ago. I always try to double the recipe and put some in the freezer for quick meals.  This comes in very handy on practice nights.  Dad taught me how to make chicken roll ups before he left for TTY the summer before 8th grade.  It was the only way my little brother and sister would eat bell peppers too. Same thing holds true for my boys now.
