Menu Plan 10•19•20

Here we go again.  Another week another menu.  And another weekend gone by.  Im running off of no sleep at all.  Stretched, showered then got in bed.  Fell asleep for a few minutes, and then boom, wide awake.  I was nauseous for some reason.  Had to sit up in bed.  Next thing I know, David was getting up for work.  So I got up too.  My alarm was set to go off in an hour and trying to sleep at that point would have been a disaster, so I didn't.  Friday night I was out by 10 and up at 6.  Sunday I slept till noon.  I guess, I didn't need to sleep last night.   Ive got my morning routine down, its the nighttime routine I need to pull together.  Whatever.  Its a new week and I want to be excited and focused on that.  Even if it got a rough start, I can rally.  

Hope Whispers Menu

Which means its time to talk food and this weeks menu.  I am trying to use up what I have in the freezer, so this weeks menu is a little bit of everything.  And theres more than just chicken.  Thank the flavor Gods because I can tell the boys were getting a little chickened- out.  I feel their pain.  I am a little veggied out.  I actually have to go to the hospital later today to do more lab work.  Since rearranging my diet, I have had to watch my blood work even more closely because all the extra vitamin K stops my blood thinners from working effectively.  I mean damn, whats a girl got to do to be healthy around here.  So much.  The answer is, so much.

Ive come to the conclusion that one person eating vegetarian does not need more than 3 meals, because each dinner can feed me multiple times.  I was looking forward to the curry last week but never got around to making it because I wanted to finish eating leftovers and such first.  So I am going to stick to making two or three meals a week and prepping them for other meals though out the week.  Yay for less food wasted.  I hate throwing things out.

Strip Steak Dinners

The guys are going to be super excited about Surf and Turf night.  They have been ever so worried about asking me for a steak dinner because they know I LOVE a good steak, but can't eat one anymore.  But the boys totally rocked the first semester of school and I want to make a nice dinner to celebrate all their hard work.  So I got some steaks, shrimp and veggies headed their way.  Just have to figure out if I will be getting the grill out or the grill pan.  Guess it depends on the weather.

Whats cooking in your kitchen today?  Do you have a process for planning your menu?  Pasta nights or meatless Mondays?  I always say Im going to get my planning more organized but then I forget and try to randomly throw ideas together.  And of course when I ask what everyone wants, I get shrugs and grunts.  Does anyone have a recipe for those? HA!  Oh the joys.  Well what ever you cook up this week, I hope its delicious and makes you happy.
