Save me Saturday: 6 San Antonio puppies needing forever homes

If you are following me on Facebook or Twitter you have heard that PetSmart Charities has dropped the rescue that my family has adopted, fosters and volunteers for.  After 10 years PetSmart cut their ties with the San Antonio Great Dane Rescue (because of a single complaint).

Over the past few years, I have shared many of their dogs with all of you.  For now there will be no more adoption events.  The rescue will not be able to pull anymore dogs out of kill shelters or off the streets and into safe foster homes to await adoption.

So today I am going to share with you some of the little guys that are waiting on their forever homes.

Meet Jake.  Jake is a 12 weeks old Terrier/Lab mix.  His adoption fee is $150.  You can learn more about Jake by clicking HERE.

This is Kay and Kit.  They are 4 months old Terrier mixes and just adorable with their big pointy ears.  Their adoptions fee is $150 and they do not have to be adopted together.  You can read more about them HERE.

Nash and Nora were born into the rescue.  Mom is a Shitzu mix.  They are 14 weeks old and ready for their forever homes.  Their adoption fee is $200.  You can learn more about Nash and Nora HERE.

And then there is Wayne.  He too is a terrier mix and at is weighing in at 7lbs. Wayne is about 4 months old.  His adoption fee is $150.  You can find more info for him HERE.

Can you get over the cuteness?  I know y'all were probably expecting big dogs, but these little puppies could really use the help first.

All dogs that are adopted out though The San Antonio Great Dane Rescue or Homeward Bound will be spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped and started on heartworm prevention. Now all they need is a forever home.

Please feel free to share with your family and friends who are looking to add to their families.

Cant adopt?  Find our other ways you can help out by stopping by The San Antonio Great Dane Rescue- Homeward Bound page.  As a volunteer run non profit organization all help is so greatly appreciated.

  1. That's freaking retarded they won't work with the rescue anymore, because of ONE complaint. :(

    1. Girl, I can't even think about it without getting angry all over again. Its unbelievable! The thing is, they are more worried about getting dogs adopted for their numbers than they are about making sure they go to quality homes. I think they are using this one complaint as a front. They wanted the rescue to stop being so strict on adoption screenings so that more dogs would get adopted. Shame on them for really only worrying about their own backs and not the dogs!
