Friday Five: 5 Pinterest Pins I love.

Crispy Southwest Chicken Wraps

1.  Crispy Southwest Chicken Wraps from Mel's Kitchen Cafe.  OH MY YUM!  We have had these at least once a month and almost always at the request of the hubby.  That's a big deal.  Plus it gets them all to eat black beans! Double win! We have made this with chicken but I think they are even better with steak.  And don't skimp on the sour cream.  It makes even better.

2.  Soap Scum Killa from Life, Crafts and Whatever.  If you hate scrubbing, this one is for you.  I remember thinking that there was no way dish soap and vinegar was going to cut through the soap scum that had built up on my glass shower walls.  But I was desperate.  So I heated the vinegar, added the soap and went to town.  I'll be honest, the smell is pretty powerful, so crack a window and let it do its thing.  Then be ready to be amazed when you scrub it all away. Its like magic!

3. No Bake Energy Bites from Smashed Peas and Carrots.  These little suckers are good!  Like the last time I made a batch I only got one good.  The first time I made them I didn't have coconut but the second time I did and I loved them even more.  I'm a sucker for coconut.  Plus no bake = no heating up the house in the middle of Texas summers.  And they are the perfect after school snack to keep my oldest out of the grumpy zone.

4. Primal Fudge from Practical Paleo.  So here is the thing, I am not a big chocolate person.  I like it, but I don't crave it very often.  If you buy me a Score Bar, I'll eat it though. Just saying.  I made two batches of these.  One is my super cute skeleton molds and one in my mini muffin pans.  I pressed a banana slice down in them too, even better.

5.  Raising Boys (A Dads advice for moms).  Man how I struggle with this sometimes.  Most of the time.  I know that I was not meant to be a girl mom but boys?  Boys are tough.  There are times they are so loud that I want to scream.  Sometimes I do, and then I hear my Dad saying "they are boys, of course they are loud".  The truth is I expect way to much from them.  Be quiet, do this, don't say that.  I have been trying very hard to just let them be boys.  The poop talk and fart noises....oh lord give me the strength! This post went straight to my heart.  I saw how each bit of advice relates to my boys.  Especially that last one.  My boys are horrible sleepers.  Anthony was 6 when he finally stopped coming into our room each night and Alex is almost 5 and still does it.  They have both said they feel safer with me, but they both know that they can't sleep in our beds forever.  Now that Anthony can read, I've been sending him to bed to read by himself.  There is one thing I really need to change this year!  We are working on it!  Seriously great advice here!

So there you have it.  Five of my favorite things I have pinned.  The first 4 I have made or used many times and that last one, well, Im working on it.  Are you on Pinterest?  You can find me HERE!  I love it!  What are some of your favorite pins?

  1. Great post! I want to eat healthier, the wrap looks delicious!!!(:

  2. Hi Kim, following you back! :)
Okay, we must have a lot in common! All of these pins intrigued me, especially the last one. I just bought a book on raising boys cause I seriously need some guidance!!! It's written by two male therapists who are also dads. I wanted the male perspective too! Can't wait to check out that article :)
