Weekend Wrap Up

This was probably one of the most laid back weekends I've had in a long while. Soccer is done. One more week of school. And I'm finally finding a little more energy to get through the days.

Friday after school we came home and did chores. And then we headed off to the pool.  Man did I need need it.  There is something so refreshing, mentally and physically about swimming. I feel free in the water. I love it. I need it.

Saturday flew right by.  I got my first bountiful basket and I am already looking forward to the next one. Have you heard of bountiful baskets?  I paid $15.00 + taxes for all of this. I usually spend that much in just fruit each week.  Alexander at the whole box of blackberries.   Well he gave the rest of us 2 each, then polished the rest off before anyone could ask for more. We have already had apples and bananas.  Some of the lettuce and tomatoes went into tonight's salad and I already have plans for the rest of it!  We also made a run to the library, went to for a drive around the back roads and explored a new park. The day ended with a win for the Spurs.  Talk about a nail biter but it was the perfect way to end the day!

Sunday mornings are always my favorite.   David and I stay in bed as late as we possibly can. He bought me breakfast and we got a chance to talk about a lot of things that have been weighing on our hearts. We also came up with a game plan for all the changes that will be coming up for us.   David had to work so the boys and I met up with some friends at the pool. I am so glad I have these girls. I don't know what I'd do without them. I'm so thankful for their friendship. We got home just in time to get dinner going before David got home.  We ended the day on a great note.  We talked about how easy it is to compare our lives to friends who have more than we do.  But the fact is, no matter how hard we are struggling right now, this is our life. Our boys are healthy and thriving.  Our marriage has never been stronger and we know that there are always people who are struggling with more.  God is good. We are blessed.

I feel excited and ready as we enter the last week of school.  Next year Alexander leaves me for Kindergarten and Anthony will be a 4th grader.  I am looking forward to a few months of enjoying them as they are now.  I remind myself daily that they will never be this young again.  Life is rolling full speed ahead. I might always be a little behind but I'm trying my best to keep up!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. And here's to a fabulous week!  Are we the last ones in school.  Almost everyone else I know is done!  Summer here we come!
